Individual cosmetology licenses in Georgia expire every two years. Depending on your license type, it will either expire on even or odd years on the last day of the month. License holders are required to complete 5 hours of continuing education from an approved education provider anytime during this period. The CE topics are set by the board and must comply with their requirements. These renewal requirements apply to all Master Cosmetologist, Esthetician, Nail Technician, Hair Designer, Master Barber, and Barber II license holders. In Georgia, you are required to complete 5 hours of state approved continuing education every 2 years in order to renew your license. Below you can find a table of the expiration dates of the licenses that are required to complete CE.

- Master Barber: Dec. 31, Even Years
- Late-Renewal Period: Jan. 1st - Jan. 31th
- Barber II: Dec. 31, Even Years
- Late-Renewal Period: Jan. 1st - Jan. 31th
Required topics & Hours
5 Total Hours of Continuing Education:
- 3 hours must be satisfied by a course in health and safety developed or approved by the Board
- 2 hours must be in a course previously registered with the Board in any of the following areas:
- Industry or Trade Show
- Health and Safety
- Industry Trends
- Computer Skills
- Business Management
- The Area of Practice for the Type of License Held by the Licensee
